ROOM: the new collection curated by Lidewij Edelkoort presented by El Espartano in Milan
For the third consecutive year, El Espartano was part of Milan Design Week with the presentation of ROOM, a new collection of rugs curated by Lidewij Edelkoort and exhibited at Galleria Rossana Orlandi from April 20-26, 2026.

Conceived as a unified body of work, ROOM brings together eleven limited edition pieces developed together with five referents of contemporary Dutch design: Carole Baijings, Kiki van Eijk, Ina Meijer, Mariola López Mariño and Lidewij Edelkoort herself, who in this edition also participates as designer.

The collection proposes a reflection on the interior as a space of refuge and intimacy, exploring different elements linked to the experience of living. Through rugs made of 100% wool and developed in collaboration with the El Espartano Design Lab in Buenos Aires, each piece translates a unique look on the interior space as an intimate universe from the textile language.

Presented as part of one of the most influential meetings on the international design calendar, the exhibition once again placed El Espartano on the global contemporary scene, consolidating the link with Edelkoort.
Throughout the week, ROOM was visited by architects, designers, journalists, gallery owners and professionals from different parts of the world, as well as Argentinean colleagues and references who accompanied the exhibition in Milan.

The collection coexisted with the singular universe of Galleria Rossana Orlandi, where the collection is still on display. The presentation once again reaffirmed El Espartano’s commitment to the development of projects that link art, design and textile production.
