Furoshiki, the collection of objects designed by Luciana Gonz\u00e1lez Franco from remnants of our carpets, was selected to be part of the ninth edition of the Ibero-American Design Biennial (BID) in Madrid, the most important event of contemporary design in the Ibero-American region.<\/p>\n\n

The collection includes seating and containers for everyday use inspired by the “furoshiki”, a traditional Japanese wrap made from a quadrangular fabric that allows multiple functions by tying it in different ways.<\/p>\n\n

Upcycling<\/em> was the starting point for this collaboration between the designer and El Espartano. Luciana is a specialist in the recovery and reuse of materials, and she let her creativity flow, finding a new functionality to the remnants of our modular carpet lines.<\/p>\n\n

From October 8, 2024 to January 5, 2025, the collection will be part of the IDB’s core exhibition, which this year focuses on exploring how design is constantly evolving and is enriched by its interaction with other disciplines.<\/p>\n\n
