Sculpture Furniture: much more than a carpet

Under the direction and curatorship of Lucila García de Onrubia (Deon Rubi) and Cinthia Kazez, the second edition of Mueble Escultura (Sculpture Furniture), an independent initiative that explores the synergy between design and contemporary art through group exhibitions, was held. The exhibition, open to the public from October 28 to November 11, 2023, was presented at Espinosa Estudios in Buenos Aires.

On this occasion, we were invited to participate from the assembly with an in situ carpet that served as a path to walk through the exhibition, integrating the visual and sensory experience of the show. In this tour, pieces by designers and artists occupied intermediate spaces on the gray floor as meeting points between the contrasting extremes. This carpeted path was intended to provoke a deep immersion in the duality and complementarity of the elements on display.

Mueble Escultura brings together pieces from a diverse group of designers and artists selected through an open call and through a process of research into contemporary production. Among the participants of the second edition are Marcela Sinclair, Martin Huberman + Estudio Normal, Max Gómez Canle, ITEM, SSGC, Santiago Taccetti, Oke Gómez Llambi (Grupo Bondi), Juliana Iriart, Marcela Cabutti, Santiago Cañadell + Laura Carpman, Mariano Ullúa, Franco Chimento, Edgardo Rojas Peraza, Ginevra Landini, Martín Mercante, Elvira Amor, Taller Posible, Nicolás Requena aka China, Fabián Ramos, Fernando Poggio and Catalina Oz.
