Century Collection by Cristián Mohaded: signature design in corporate spaces

Century is the collection of modular rugs created in collaboration with Cristián Mohaded, industrial designer and artist, whose work is characterized by simplicity, subtlety and a constant search for new materials. The collection takes up an art deco language, with a dynamic, free and contemporary reinterpretation, to compose a dialogue between architecture and textiles.

Mohaded, an industrial designer graduated from the National University of Córdoba, was born in Catamarca and currently shares his time between Buenos Aires and Milan. His career is based on the development and design of products (lighting, furniture and accessories) for national and international companies, and also in art direction for companies and interior design projects. Over time, he has grown significantly in his profession and today he is positioned as one of the young references of Latin American design.

The design of geometric style lines and curves are the protagonists of these modular rugs woven in nylon bouclé.

Facing a new challenge, Mohaded decided to “generate a line that would have a strong personality and, at the same time, would fit discreetly and sophisticatedly into the workspaces of the 21st century”. The result was a design of extreme precision woven in nylon bouclé that would later be inserted in corporate spaces, managing to merge a creative and artistic idea with the practicality of a modular, flexible, easy to install and durable product.

The design is of clean and elemental lines that move and intertwine in a labyrinth without borders. Geometric compositions with curves and angles predominate. “The collection takes up an art deco language, with a dynamic, free and contemporary reinterpretation, to compose a dialogue between architecture and textiles,” says Mohaded.

Century received the Seal of Good Design 2021 recognition.

The morphology of the modular system meets aesthetic and functional needs, while optimizing the investment and maintenance of the surfaces. These attributes make them an extremely attractive product when designing the architecture and interior design of all types of corporate offices. Nowadays, the trend of open spaces is becoming more and more popular, without neglecting the need to sectorize areas and distinguish corridors from common areas.
