Mohaded by two: Argentine designer presents “Ninho” and “Raza”, two collections created from reused materials
Once again, Argentine designer Cristián Mohaded uses leftovers from El Espartano to design two new products, “Ninho” and “Raza“.

“Ninho” is a limited edition of objects (coffee tables and table lamps) that complements the 2017 collection of mirrors and containers. It uses the selvedges – edges of rugs – discarded by composing them in multiple overlapping layers that become a rigid fur, of volumes and defined surfaces that embrace the object. Its shape and natural color recall the exterior of a nest and give rise to its name.

“Raza”, on the other hand, is Mohaded’s first work with ceramic artist Santiago Lena. It is a collection of containers with unspecific shapes. They are cylinders that vary in height and diameter, worked with different stoneware compositions, color and textures. The stoneware skin is crossed by an explosion of filaments that give life to the pieces.
